In this episode with @coachpow_, a man of many titles and names including EJ Parris, and Othieno Chi Bey-El, we went down a few rabbit holes.
We talked about his ability to build himself back up after setbacks or injuries and the things that helped him. We talked about his inspiration to run, and the people who held him accountable.
In addition we talked about the value of Run Fast, Visualizing, Watering the Plants and Looking Good. The episode was very conversational and will be an easy listen for anyone.
Here’s a little more to help you get to know Coach Pow.
Since 2010 Coach Pow has been a Performance Coach and consultant to many athletes within the professional and collegiate world.
He has guest lectured various events, advocating his love for movement through storytelling and workshops.
You will often hear him say, “Movement is not an exclusive club, and everybody has a place. I am here to help you find it.”
His passion for movement led him into coaching himself during parts of his athletic career; Later, he went on to medal at the Commonwealth Games, Pan-Am Games and made the 2008 Canadian Olympic team.
His worldly travels allowed him to meet and train with some of the top coaches and gather a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
Though he has retired from competitive track and field, he remains active in the field of play - still training and testing theories on himself.
Don’t let his physique intimidate you. With those big muscles comes an even bigger smile and a genuine desire to connect with people on their journey to realizing their mind-body's beauty and strength.
