There’s something you’ve been putting off. You’ve been telling yourself you’ll “ease into it” when life calms down, when the timing is right, when motivation hits.
Here’s the truth I’ve been hesitant to tell you:
Pick one hard, non-negotiable thing and start doing it today—every day—from now on.
If movement’s inconsistent: walk 30 minutes today. Rain or shine—make it your baseline.
If nutrition’s chaotic: choose one meal today and make it mostly protein and vegetables. Repeat tomorrow.
If your mental health is wavering: step outside, call someone you trust, and tell them how you’re actually doing. Then keep showing up in small ways.
Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Your body and mind are keeping score—every choice adds up.
Lessons from Kristina Botelho
Back in November 2018, I sat down with Kristina Botelho (KB & Co). It’s an origin story about grit, mindset, and acting before conditions are perfect:
Resilience despite headwinds.
Vision + action > waiting for “the right time.”
Positivity and transparency as operating systems—especially during messy, human moments (staffing bumps, tough reviews, long days).
Leading with gut + heart, and refusing complacency.
If you don’t do it, somebody else will.
That line lit a fire under her—and it should under you, too.

Where Kristina Is Now
Kristina’s story didn’t stop in 2018. In March 2023 she was named MacEwan University’s 36th Allard Chair in Business, an honorary role recognizing community-minded business leaders. The university cites her path from operator to founder and expansion of kb&co to seven locations across Alberta and B.C., with classroom visits and events to mentor students.
The role isn’t something you can apply for—MacEwan approaches leaders directly, which says everything about her work and reputation.
Your Move
What’s the one step you’ve been avoiding—not the easy one, the transformative one?
Do it today. Not next week. Not “after summer.” Today.
If that step includes sharing your voice more boldly:

When it comes to the routine I've been practicing the last year and a half. I didn't ask if it was ok. I started because someone reached out to me and it was an opportunity I wasn't letting out of my grasp. The people close to me are still trying to grasp the plan and realize what I've been doing and how I plan to continue it. That's ok. I will keep with my plan. They will realize eventually or not.
